What is the ACA or Obama Care?

The Affordable Care Act or ACA for its acronym in English, better known as Obamacare, is a reform of the health system that includes various improvements to expand access to quality health care and improve services to patients. This reform also establishes that residents of the United States can receive a tax credit to pay for their health insurance.

What are the registration requirements?

To access a tax credit, you must mainly have a social security number and legal immigration status, plan to make your tax return for the year you apply for coverage and receive income within a certain range according to the number of people you include on your tax return.

When can I register?

You can only enroll in a plan with Obamacare during the statutory open enrollment period for your State. The open enrollment period through the Health Insurance Marketplace for coverage in 2019 was from November 15 to December 15 in 2018. You may qualify for a special enrollment period if you had certain events in your life, such as: moving, having a child, get married, etc.
